Def Leppard’s 1983 hit, “Photograph”, is the lead single off their third album, Pyromania.

The album's production was overseen by Mutt Lange, who also contributed to the songs, including "Photograph." Lange proposed the lyric "All I've Got Is an Image," which gained traction with the members and was developed around the idea of a guy who was obsessed about a girl but only had a photograph of her to cherish.

While the band would occasionally attribute the song to Marilyn Monroe, there was never any solid evidence of such a reference, and it was merely used to make a good story for the track.
